4-H Wildlife Manuals - Level A

Introduces youth to 12 animal species and encourages them to explore basic animal concepts by studying information about the featured species. Grades 3-4.

Teaches wildlife concepts, including habitats, migration, life cycle, populations, the food web and adaptations. Grades 5-6.

Youth have fun playing a fish, tying knots, casting to a target, rigging various lines, selecting tackle, identifying where fish are, using different baits & lures, identifying fish, cooking fish and identifying internal & external fish parts. (c 2002)

Youth locate fishing info. on the web, cast using a spinning rod & fly rod & bait casting reel, practice responsible citizenship, research fishing regulations, decorate a lure, sew a fly wallet, tie an artificial fly & test a water sample. (c 2001)
