Nearly 300 pages, this after-school curriculum has been accepted by the National 4-H Curriculum Collection and covers all the bases with hands-on activities for youth grades K-5. Adventures in Learning is 20 theme weeks of educational fun based on the Experiential Learning Model and explores topics in each of the 4-H curriculum topic areas. Each unit has five lessons, one for each day of the school week. Optional activities are also provide. References and resources for the teacher and books for the children are included for each unit. The following life skills are emphasized: cooperation, learning to learn, communication, leadership, problem solving, decision making, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Materials 1 has three lesson sheets for each project area to offer many opportunities for learning activities and encouraging positive attitudes towards learning. Each exercise is given an estimated time to assist in planning group activities.

This activity-packed group guide is designed for teachers, volunteer leaders and other educators. The activities help groups of youth explore the many treasures of 4-H.
