Building Community Tool Kit

The core resource for the "Training of Facilitator" event includes processes for examining community assets, creating community visions and plans, and generating sustained community change. What makes it unique are its guiding principles: developing equal partnerships between youth and adults, focusing on assets instead of deficits, examining the full diversity of local resources and building on the work that communities and groups have already done.

Citizenship Adventure Kit

Decision making, problem solving and teamwork are among the skills that youth stamp on their passports. They address real community issues, and keep a journal of their thoughts, decisions and actions throughout the process. The kit includes a passport to record achievements, postcards with project tips, and a travel log. (40 pages)

Citizenship Guide’s Handbook

Through tips, suggestions, added references and activities - youth take an educational journey that is fun and educational. Youth discover the importance of needs assessment, knowing who are advocates and detractors, formulating a plan and knowing what success looks like. (40 pages)

Project GROW

Project GROW is hands-on citizenship education for early elementary students, that can be used in the classroom and other settings. The curriculum targets 2-4 grades; and follows an ecological model of self, family, neighborhood, community, state/country, and world. It teaches children about their role in society, and aims to build self-esteem and develop important skills while teaching basic social studies. Children learn by doing, reflecting, and applying content that is relevant, useful, and focuses on the following life skills and program areas.
