
Utah State University and Utah 4-H have teamed up to create 4-H Aggie Adventures for Kids, a program offering educational day-camps for children and youth in grades 1-8. Camps emphasize hands-on learning and explore a variety of subjects including archeology, robotics, art, history, astronomy, and more!

SUMMER 2009 CAMP GUIDE
Slimy, Gooey, Gross 1-3 (9:00-12:00) $79 June 8-12
Conduct all kinds of icky, sticky experiments. Get the science scoop as you, grow fungus, create your own “worms”, and make your very own slime!
Centaurs, Trolls & Fairies 4-5 (9:00-12:00) $79 June 15-19
Grab your potions and ancient artifacts as we look for mythical and magical creatures that have taken refuge at hidden preserves around the world. In this camp based on the book series Fablehaven, we’ll explore forests, animals, potions, mythical creatures, and write in invisible ink to keep our secrets hidden from our enemies. Remember, don’t drink the milk!
Dinosaurs! 1-2 (9:00-Noon) $79 June 22-26
Take a journey back millions of years ago to the days when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Investigate T-rex teeth, cast a fossil, and discover all kinds of ancient life.
Mindstorms Inventors 6-8 (1:00 - 4:00) $79 June 22-26
Let your imagination run wild! Design and build a Lego Mindstorms NXT invention, then bring it to life with programming. Create a catapult, peacock, dragster, and biting rattlesnake---or invent one of your own!
*No previous robotics experience required.
Cookin’ Up Science 3-5 (9:00-12:30) $79 June 29-July 2
Explore basic chemistry and physics using common items from the kitchen. Mix up some cornstarch plastic, make your cereal dance, brew your own bubble gum, and extract real DNA from strawberries!
Island Adventure 3-5 (9:00-12:00) $79 July 6-10
Travel to a remote, secret island. Spend the week discovering coastal and ocean life including whales, sea turtles and more sea life. Explore the island as you forage for food and make a shelter. Watch out for pirates!
Terraformers: Transforming Planet Pantheon 6-8 (9:00-3:00) $159 July 13-17
Learn Lego NXT robotics basics in the training areas on the Space Shuttle Entropy as you travel to the distant planet Pantheon. Visit the planet’s moons, to hone your terraforming skills and then complete the missions on the Pantheon’s surface.

Green Scene 4-5 (9:00-12:30) $79 July 20-23
Discover how kids can help take care of our planet through simple activities. Investigate energy by building a wind powered car, launching a solar balloon and making a solar cooker.
Space Explorers 1-3 (9:00-12:00) $79 July 27-31
This camp will be out of this world as we explore the Solar System. Learn about the planets, comets, stars, rockets and about the night sky in the Star Lab mini-planetarium. Be prepared to encounter some extra-terrestrial life!
