Aggie Adventures for Kids

Utah State University and Utah 4-H have teamed up to create 4-H Aggie Adventures for Kids, a program offering educational day-camps for children and youth in grades 1-6 in Cache County, held in the ASTE Building at USU.  Please see the campus map to aid you in locating the ASTE Building.

All Aggie Adventure Camps emphasize hands-on learning and explore a variety of subjects including archeology, robotics, art, history, astronomy, and more!

SUMMER 2012 CAMP GUIDE - Cache County

Courageous Warriors - June 4-8, 9am- Noon
Calling all knights and fair ladies of the round. Our kingdom is under attack and we need your help! Come to a specialized training this week as we learn to fight both enemies and dragons. Step back in time to the Medieval period. Prove yourself a true warrior with jousting, clothing construction and castle sieging skills. Grades 1-3

Kitchen Explosion - June 11-15, 9am- Noon
Our kitchen has turned into a mad scientist lab where we will be experimenting and making foods you never thought possible. Practice your bubble gum blowing skills as you learn where it all started and make some of our own. We will have a fizzy fun time as we make our own soda pop. You won’t want to miss a thing! You just never know when something in our kitchen will explode. Grades 4-6

Call of the Wild - June 18-22, 9am- Noon
Interested in bugs, animals, plants and wild things? If yes, this is the camp for you. We will be exploring nature and its hidden forces. You just never know where we might go. Perhaps a jungle safari, a journey into outer space, or an adventure under the sea. Grades 1-3

Extreme Adventures - June 25-July 29, 9am- Noon
This is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for canoeing, hiking, and swimming. We want you to be ready for any dangers we may encounter. We will discover habitats of plants and animals. Every day will be a challenge! Grades 4-6

Slimy, Gooey, Gross - July 2, 9am-3pm
Conduct all kinds of icky, sticky experiments. Get the science scoop as you grow fungus, create your own “worms” and make your very own slime.  Bring your own lunch!  Grades 1-3

Dinosaurs! - July 3, 9am-3pm
Take a journey back millions of years to the days when dinosaurs ruled the earth. Investigate T-Rex Teeth, cast a fossil, and discover all kinds of ancient life. Have fun learning about the work of paleontologists through hands-on activities!  Bring your own lunch!  Grades 1-3

A Lollapalooza - July 16-20, 9am- Noon
Let’s put your creativity to work! Learn some creative life skills like cake decorating, floral arranging, and much more. You will have many artistic experiences using a palette of fun artistic tools. Grades 4-6

Lego Robotics- WeDo - July 25-27, 9am-Noon
Let your imagination run wild! Design and build Lego WeDo robots and then animate your robot with basic programming. *No previous robotics experience required. All equipment provided. Grades 1-3

Lego Robotics- NXT - July 30- August 3, 9am-Noon
Let your imagination take hold! Design and build a Lego Mindstorm NXT robot, then bring it to life with programming to complete mission challenges. Put your skills to the test with robotics competition on the final day. *No previous robotics experience required. All equipment provided. Grade 4-6
 

GENERAL INFORMATION: All camps are held on the Utah State University campus.

  • CAMP REGISTRATION BEGINS APRIL 18th, 2011!
  • CAMP FEES: Camp fees range from $29.00 to $85.00.
  • Multiple Camp Discount: Sign up for 3 or more camps (per household) and get $5 off each camp fee.
  • Early-Bird Discount: Sign up for 2 or more camps (per household) by May 14th, 2012, and get $10.00 off total camp fees.
